How to use this tool

This calculator provides an indicative ISO duty class (M3–M8) based on your crane’s operating profile. To use it:

  1. Enter average operating hours per day – time the hoist actively lifts or moves loads.
  2. Enter average lifts per hour – number of load-handling cycles per hour.
  3. Enter operating days per year – typically 250–330 depending on your plant schedule.
  4. Select the load spectrum – choose whether your crane handles light, medium, heavy, or very heavy loads.
  5. Click Calculate to get the recommended ISO duty class and FEM equivalent.

⚠️ Note: This is a conservative guide. For procurement or certification, always confirm with the manufacturer’s FEM/ISO duty class tables and technical documentation.
