EOT Crane Quote Normalization Sheet
Quick Answer
Before comparing EOT crane prices, normalize each quote line by line: capacity, span, lift, duty, speeds, power supply, safety devices, FAT/SAT, documentation, warranty, exclusions, delivery basis, commissioning responsibility, training, and spares.
A low quote is not cheaper if it excludes commissioning, uses weaker components, omits FAT/SAT, or leaves documentation and spares unclear. Quote normalization turns three different offers into a comparable table.
What to Normalize
| Parameter | What to Compare | Risk if Ignored |
|---|---|---|
| Technical basics | Capacity, span, lift height, duty class, speeds. | Vendors quote different cranes. |
| Electrical scope | Power supply, DSL/busbar, panel, controls, VFD/two-speed. | Commissioning and reliability surprises. |
| Safety | Limit switches, overload, E-stop, anti-collision, siren/light. | Unsafe or incomplete supply. |
| Acceptance | FAT, SAT, load test, documentation handover. | Disputes before dispatch or final payment. |
| Commercial | Warranty, exclusions, delivery, erection, commissioning, training. | Hidden cost after PO. |
How to Use It
- Fill vendor A/B/C columns using only written quote details.
- Mark each row comparable: yes or no.
- Write the gap or deviation clearly.
- Assign risk level before commercial negotiation.
- Ask vendors to close gaps in writing before final selection.
